Single Family Permits Rebound in September (September 2020)

After a slight dip in August, the number of single-family housing permits issued in September in the Kansas City region climbed in September with a 20 percent increase over the previous month and a 17 percent increase year-to-date compared to the first nine months of 2019, according to statistics compiled by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA).

Once again, Kansas City, Mo., issued the most single-family permits in September with 131, an increase over last month when 98 permits were issued in that city. Other top permitting cities in September include Olathe, Kan., with 57; Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Shawnee, Kan., both with 34; and Overland Park, Kan., with 31.
