NAHB and KCHBA Encourage Members to Participate in OSHA Safety Stand-Down – May 3-15, 2015

The National Association of Home Builders and Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City are encouraging members to participate in the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration’s (OSHA) Safety Stand Down for Preventing Falls in Construction from May 3-15.  The purpose of the stand-down is for employers and their employees to take a moment to demonstrate their commitment to safety, review fall protection rules and identify any fall protection hazards.  Falls are responsible for nearly half of all home building deaths that are work-related.  Last year’s stand-down reached more than 1 million workers and OSHA’s goal for this year is to involve more than 3 million works in over 20,000 stand-downs.  To get started, see the Fall Prevention Training Guide:  A Lesson Plan for Employers below.
