Improving the Efficiency of Your Inspections (4 CEU)
This seminar is focused on the detailed requirements of completing building inspections, customer service, record keeping and effective field procedures with verbal and non-verbal communication. Topics covered include:

  • Purpose and administration of the code
  • Office operations, scheduling and record-keeping
  • Effective field inspection procedures
  • Written versus verbal orders
  • Verbal and non-verbal skills

March 4, 12:30-5:00 p.m.
Exterior Wall Systems (4 CEU)
Water intrusion through exterior walls may be the largest problem in residential construction today. This course will discuss the requirements for exterior walls according to IRC chapters 3, 6 and 7.
Topics covered include:

  • General installation requirements
  • Weather resistance barriers
  • Flashing
  • Vinyl/wood/hardboard siding
  • Masonry and culture veneers
  • Stucco and EIFS systems

One half day course:
KCHBA member: $175
Non-member: $225

Two half day courses:
KCHBA member: $300
Non-member: $400


March 5, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Performing 2018 Residential Code Review (8 CEU)
This course will provide code enforcers with knowledge ranging from fundamentals to advanced resources used in the administration and enforcement of applicable code requirements of the 2018 IRC. This code applies to all aspects of construction from excavation through certificate of occupancy.

Full day course:
KCHBA member: $250
Non-member: $350
