NAHB Hosting Lumber Webinar, Nov. 14

The recent import tariffs on lumber from Canada have generated higher interest among many builders in importing lumber from other countries that may or may not have properly graded the imported wood for structural use. Grading and inspection agencies accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) develop lumber design values and provide grade stamps that assure builders and building officials that the lumber they are using has the desired structural properties.

During this webinar, American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) president David E. Kretschmann, will detail the ALSC’s processes for grading U.S. and Canadian lumber grading, and discuss how lumber imported from outside North America can be graded for use under U.S. building codes and standards.
