Workforce Development: HBA Participates in OATC Career Fair

Todd Lipschutz Inspired Homes - smallAs part of the HBA’s workforce development initiative, the association attended the Olathe Advanced Technical Center’s career fair on Oct. 4. Courtney Reyes, the HBA’s workforce development coordinator, and several HBA members manned a booth throughout the day, speaking with students about careers in the residential construction industry. About 250 students attended the event with 40 being specifically from the Construction Trades program.

The next career day in which the HBA will participate is the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Career Expo on Nov. 14. The chamber is expecting 1,300+ junior and senior students from multiple districts in the area and they are encouraging college students to attend as well. If you would like to promote your company at the Career Expo, the HBA is looking for volunteers to man its booth in two-hour increments. Contact or call 816-942-8800 for details.
