April 2025 Residential Statistics Report
April showed a significant increase in single-family permits with 430 permits issued compared to the 345 issued the month prior, according to statistics compiled by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA). Year to date, 1,369 single-family permits have been issued in the eight-county Kansas City metro area compared to 1,388 for the same time last year.
This month-to-month increase was primarily due to 82 single-family permits issued in Olathe in April. Kansas City, Mo., issued 50 single-family permits, Overland Park 43, Spring Hill 38 and Lenexa 21 single-family permits.
Similarly, the top five cities issuing the most permits year-to-date are Olathe with 179, Kansas City, Mo., with 175, Overland Park with 116, Spring Hill with 101 and Lenexa with 82.
