November 2024 Residential Statistics Report

November SF Permits Dip, Up Year to Date

In November 2024, 335 single family permits were pulled across the Kansas City regional area, according to statistics compiled by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA). This is a 29 percent decrease from the 473 single-family permits issued the previous month. Year to date, however, single family permits are up 13 percent compared to this time last year.
Smithville issued 66 permits during the month of November, a record high for the year. This was due to a single-family development being built by PC Homes.

After Smithville, Olathe issued the second highest number of single-family permits (27), Kansas City, Mo., was third with 23 single-family permits, and in fourth place was Overland Park, which issued (22). Lee’s Summit and Shawnee tied for fifth with 18 permits issued in each city.

Johnson County continues to lead in total number of single-family permits issued by county this year with 1,612.
