The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA) is proud to announce a substantial donation made by its Home Builders Charitable Foundation that significantly enhances the association’s commitment to workforce development in the skilled trades. The Home Builders Charitable Foundation has donated $50,000 to the Northland Career Center (NCC) as part of NCC’s fundraising campaign to build a new facility, The Northland Workforce Development Center (NWDC).

“We are very thankful for the partnership we have had with the KCHBA for many years,” said Brian Noller, executive director of business services for NWDC. “We have grown many construction concepts and collaboratively provided opportunities for students to grow their skills and opportunities to be successful in a skilled trades workforce beyond high school. The KCHBA has provided numerous tools, such as scholarships, for NCC graduates. This contribution means a lot to us as we build an even tighter bond with an organization that has done so much for the organization and our students. We will proudly brand KCHBA on one of our construction classrooms and our common spaces of the NWDC!”

“This contribution is an investment in the future of the economy as well as in the students from all over the Kansas City region who are interested in careers in construction,” said Will Ruder, executive vice president of the KCHBA. “The KCHBA’s mission is ‘homeownership for all’ and homes for people must be built by people. It’s an honor to invest in an effort that will give our young people opportunities to pursue rewarding careers while created much needed housing for communities across the region.”

About the Home Builders Charitable Foundation
A strong, livable neighborhood should be available to all in our society. That is why the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA) established the Home Builders Charitable Foundation in 2002 as the charitable arm of the KCHBA. The Foundation’s mission is to support local nonprofit organizations that promote owning and maintaining a home, as well as to support job training resources related to residential construction in the Kansas City area. For more information, visit kchba.org/about-us/foundation/.
