NAHB Spring Board Meeting Details

NAHB logo e1466177048275As a member of the KCHBA, you have access to an enormous catalog of resources through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). And since we’re like every one else, we want to make sure we’re getting what we pay for! The annual Spring Leadership Meeting has been moved to a virtual format.

For those of you who want to see what goes on at the national level, this is a low-cost, convenient way to extract additional value out of your membership. There is no better opportunity to see what your national organization is doing on your behalf to promote home building and home ownership across the country. This will be a great orientation for KCHBA members given that the annual Fall Leadership Meeting is scheduled to be in Kansas City in October of this year!

Whether you have a particular interest in a single council or committee conversation or if you’re unsure about where to even begin, there are a number of options available to you, which are listed here. All times listed on this schedule are EDT so be sure to deduct an hour when you put a meeting on your calendar.

Here at the KCHBA offices, we will be broadcasting the following meetings live in the event you’d like to join staff and fellow members for the information and light refreshments. (All times below listed at actual KC time.):

Tuesday, June 16

  • 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.: NAHB Membership Committee, KCHBA Board Room

Wednesday, June 17

  • 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.: NAHB Associate Members, KCHBA Board Room

Thursday, June 18

  • 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.: NAHB Area 11 Caucus, KCHBA Board Room (If planning to participate at the KCHBA, please confirm with staff by close of business Tuesday, June 16 to ensure an accurate lunch count.)

Of course there are a whole host of options available to you over the course of next week that the schedule above doesn’t cover. As you’ll see in the week’s agenda, there are more meetings than we have meeting space. So please feel free to browse the catalog of next week’s opportunities and send me any questions you might have.

The Spring Leadership Meeting is typically held in Washington, D.C., every June. As part of that meeting, KCHBA members schedule meetings with the federal Congressional delegations of both Kansas and Missouri to educate them on the needs of our industry. Due to the virtual format of this year’s meeting, the KCHBA will instead pursue virtual meetings with our area legislators.

The story that you and your organization have to tell is simply too important to take a year off. We will send out additional information about meeting times and options so that ALL of our members have an opportunity to interact with those who represent us on Capitol Hill.
