NAHB Endorses Senator Roy Blunt

HBA members and friends gathered on Oct. 26 to announce NAHB’s endorsement of Missouri Senator Roy Blunt.  Despite a long history of not endorsing congressional candidates, NAHB broke with tradition this year to recognize those candidates who value the home building industry and work to protect it.  According to Chairman Ed Brady, “Sen. Blunt has consistently demonstrated that he is a champion of housing and has pushed to advance policies that will put families in homes, create jobs and spur economic growth.”

Senator Blunt addressed concerns about burdensome government regulations at the event, specifically citing the EPA’s Waters of the U.S. Rule – an attempt to drastically expand their jurisdiction over virtually all bodies of water and make them subject to federal regulation.  Blunt stated that he is opposed to “out of control regulators” and desires a process to make new regulations be approved by a congressional vote.
