Celebrate Professional Women in Building Week

The KCHBA’s Professional Women in Building Council (KCPWB) are celebrating NAHB’s Professional Women in Building Week – an occasion to celebrate women as an important component of the residential construction industry. Showcasing the achievements of women across all facets of the industry and the efforts to promote, train, advance and add more women in the field. Each day highlights a different focus.

KCPWB has something special planned for each between Mon., Sept. 12 and Fri., Sept. 16. Register for all events at members.kchba.org/calendar – all are welcome to attend!

Monday, Sept. 12: Kick off Professional Women in Building Week with Headshots and Mimosas! KCPWB will be at the Timber Rock Clubhouse in Lenexa (21700 W. 95^th St., Lenexa, KS 66220) from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Headshots are $50; spaces are limited so be sure to register as soon as you can! PWB members will be given priority. If availability allows, headshot signups will open up to the general KCHBA membership on Sept. 2. If you are not a KCPWB member or don’t need a headshot, this event is free to attend! Please network and enjoy a light breakfast and mimosas in celebration of PWB week.

Tues., Sept. 13: Join KCPWB for “Everyone is Not Like You”, Authenticity with Rachel Keck from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at XO Exteriors (9801 Legler Rd., Lenexa, KS 66219). It can feel like the world is moving at hyper-speed, obligations and expectations keep piling on, and there is no place to catch your breath. This event will provide breathing space for women who are leading in different ways. We’ll spend time understanding the four phases of authenticity. Leave empowered to create your own breathing room! Admission is $20 for KCHBA members, $35 for non-members and free to KCPWB members. Each attendee will receive a paperback copy of “Everyone is Not Like You”.

Wed., Sept. 14: Join your KCPWB colleagues at Touché the Nightclub (6820 W. 105^th St., Overland Park, KS 66212) beginning at 5:00 p.m. RSVP not required, but encouraged.

Thurs., Sept. 15: KCPWB will gather at Aubrey Vineyards (16350 Kenneth Rd., Overland Park, KS 66085) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for live music, drinks and networking. RSVP not required, but encouraged.

Fri., Sept. 16: Kick the weekend off right and celebrate with friends at Horsefeather Social, the rooftop bar at Loews Hotel (1515 Wyandotte St., Kansas City, MO 64108). RSVP not required, but encouraged.
