KCHBA Celebrates Professional Women in Building Week
NAHB designates Sept. 17-21 as Professional Women in Building Week. It’s an opportunity to celebrate women as a visible component of the residential construction industry and provides an occasion for members across the NAHB federation to collectively raise awareness of their contributions through activities that promote, enhance and support women within the industry.
Shirley Wiseman, president and owner of the McVay Group in Kentucky, was the first female president of NAHB, serving from 1987-1991. Locally, we have many strong women leading companies and serving in leadership roles at the HBA and in the community. The HBA took the opportunity to recognize these women during its Associate Appreciation lunch on Sept. 18. In attendance were:
- Raelynn Barnhart – SAB Construction
- Terri Marks – Providence Homes
- Jo Ann Nero – Aristocrat Homes
- Andrea Peterson – Monticello Homes
- Chris Ragland – Homes By Chris
- Lan Stallings – Dreams & Design Building Co.
- Brandy White – John Shilt Homes
Thank you to these women for breaking barriers and serving as role models for future generations in the industry.
