Builder Code Credit Education (4 CEU): IRC Updates from 2018-2021

Review the changes from the last edition to the current edition. This course will cover some of the background behind many of the changes and provide the participant with an understanding of the intent of the changes.

Who should attend? This course is applicable to all aspects of the design, construction, regulatory community, including contractors and design professionals.

Builder Code Credit Education (8 CEU): Field Inspections – 2018 IRC

A moderately-paced course that provides an in-depth view of the IRC, chapters 1-10 & 44, dealing with many facets and issues of one- and two-family dwelling units. Catch major and minor code items that will help improve the inspection process in the field.

What’s covered? Administration rules, definitions, fire and life safety aspects, soil conditions and excavation, footing size and strength, placement of concrete, slab-on-grade, reinforcing steel, anchorage, retaining walls, light conventional wood-frame construction, load paths, notching and boring, girders and headers, connections and brace walls, and roofing provisions of rafters and roof truss.

Who should attend? This course is applicable to all aspects of the design/construction/regulatory community, including contractors and design professionals.

When: Fri., Aug. 5 | 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Lunch is included.

  • Participation requires in-person attendance | Instructor will be virtual
  • Participants must be present the entire length of the class to earn credit
  • Classes offer credit for the following licenses: A, B, C, DW
  • Class credit approval is currently in process through Johnson County Contractor Licensing
